Our client, a leading mining company, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Junior Project Accountant to join their team on a 6-12 month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced industry.
Key Responsibilities Assist in project accounting activities, including cost tracking, budgeting, and variance analysis Support the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures Collaborate with project managers to monitor project expenditures and provide financial insights Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes related to project accounts Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audit purposes Contribute to the continuous improvement of project accounting processes Skills & Experience A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline 1-2 years of experience in project accounting or a similar role, preferably within the mining or resources sector Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks within deadlines What's on Offer Competitive remuneration Flexible working arrangement A supportive and collaborative team environment The opportunity to build your career in the mining sector with a reputable company Please Note: Only candidates with Australian citizenship or permanent residency will be considered for this role.
