VNT provides strategic leadership, drives industry development, and supports the Northern Tasmanian tourism sector to achieve market readiness.VNT are a passionate team that aims to:Inspire and lead communities towards sustainable tourism growth.Foster partnerships to achieve collective goals.Showcase the best of Northern Tasmania while embracing global trends.To learn more, visit: About the Chair of the Board RoleAs the Chair of the Board, you will:Provide strategic leadership to the Board and ensure effective governance of VNT.Champion collaboration with councils, government, industry stakeholders, and the broader tourism sector.Strategically Drive the implementation of the Destination Management Plan for Northern Tasmania.Work collaboratively to guide and support the CEO's development, driving the achievement of strategic and operational priorities.Represent VNT at key regional and statewide forums, including the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania.Ensure financial sustainability, compliance, and alignment with statutory obligations.Cultivate a culture of collaboration, curiosity, and bold leadership across VNT's governance and operations.About YouYou are an experienced and strategic leader with a strong connection to Northern Tasmania and its future. Ideally, you bring:Proven success in executive or Board leadership roles.Strong understanding of regional tourism and economic development, with local sector insights (desirable but not essential).High-level stakeholder engagement, advocacy, and influencing capabilities.Demonstrated ability to drive governance excellence and financial sustainability.Strong business acumen and experience leading through growth and change.Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) qualifications (or ability to attain within 6 months).A proven ability to uphold and advance governance practices that ensure accountability, transparency, and organisational success.Residency in Northern Tasmania and the capacity to represent the region proudly.Why Lead with VNT?This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the visitor economy, shaping the future of one of Tasmania's most celebrated regions.
