About the Opportunity Are you tired of billable hours and looking for more flexibility in applying your legal knowledge? If you answered yes, this may be the role for you!
As the Principal Lawyer, you will be responsible for managing legal matters, ensuring they align with the Council's strategic objectives and operational needs. You will lead the Council's legal services framework, delivering both strategic and operational legal solutions to support the business. You will provide high-level, timely, and solution-focused legal advice, ensuring the Council's legal priorities are met efficiently. Additionally, you will manage and instruct external legal counsel as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
Remuneration $110,997 - $147,104 per annum plus superannuation

About You To succeed in this role, you will possess a law degree, a comprehensive background in providing legal advice in local government and/or commercial settings, along with extensive experience in managing complex legal issues. A current practising certificate or the ability to obtain one is required.
