About the role The Diocese of Armidale represents the Catholic Church in the region of the New England and North-west Slopes and Plains of NSW.
It provides missionary, charitable and pastoral works within a large network of over 20 parishes as well as overseeing 24 systemic schools in this region.
The Armidale Diocesan Investment Group (ADIG), a registered charity, runs as a discreet agency within the Diocese.
It supports the religious, charitable and educational services of the Diocese by providing financial and investment services to the schools, parishes and other agencies within the region as well as distributing its surpluses to the Diocese to fund its charitable works.
The position of CEO is now available and expressions of interest are invited for this key appointment.
The CEO leads the organisation and takes overall responsibility for its management within the strategic and accountability frameworks established by the Board.
As CEO, in conjunction with the Chair, you will enable the Board to fulfil its duties and responsibilities for the proper governance of ADIG and ensure the Board receives advice and information in a timely and appropriate manner.
You will work collaboratively with all parts of ADIG and other Diocese entities.
In strategically leading ADIG, you will establish strategies that resonate with the retail and wholesale investor markets that take into account emerging challenges and changes in the requirements of the Diocese, joint venture partners and other stakeholders.
Other key responsibilities of the CEO role include leading the Senior Management Team, strategically influencing key stakeholder relationships, managing and developing ADIG as a business, and ensuring compliance.
You will bring at least 15 years of senior management experience from a regulated financial services environment.
This could include experience within funds management, superannuation, capital management, family offices, an ADI and/or experience with endowment funds, alongside tertiary and/or post graduate qualifications in business, finance or a related field.
You will have an understanding of the regulatory requirements associated with ASIC, APRA and holding an AFSL.
Experience in providing strong leadership and management of staff and other stakeholders in all aspects of a contemporary similar sized organisation is key, as is strong financial and commercial acumen.
The role requires someone who is able to work within a small, regionally based team and be 'hands on' with an empathic attitude.
High-level interpersonal and communication skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a strong support for the Catholic Ethos is also important.
