About the roleIn this leadership position, you will be responsible for the overall management and running of one of Geelong's largest indoor leisure centres in Moolap (Splashdown) and a newly opened outdoor pool in Drysdale (North Bellarine Aquatic Centre).
You will oversee a wide range of operations including indoor and outdoor pools, Learn to Swim, reception, gymnasium, group exercise, older adults, and crèche facilities.
Work type: Permanent Full TimeClassification: Band 7 $100,064 - $110,990 pa (plus super) Key responsibilities include: Provide leadership and direction to staff by taking responsibility for staff issues, rostering, employee development and performance.Facilitate effective maintenance and presentation of the Centre including all plant, wet and dry areas, buildings, car parking and grounds facilities.Ensure that user groups, patrons, contractors and employees are provided with safe and healthy working environments and take immediate corrective action to remedy unsatisfactory or unsafe working conditions wherever possible.Increase utilisation of the centre through the development and implementation of internal marketing plans and strategies.Provide support for the implementation of programs related to patrons requirements, marketing and promotional plans for the Centre in accordance with key performance indicators.Review and report to the Manager Leisure Services in respect to the agreed Centre operational budget, ensuring the financial operation of the Centre remains on track.About youTo be successful in this role, you will be an experienced leader within the Leisure industry, with experience leading large teams and driving positive culture within the workplace.
You will be highly organised, enjoy problem solving, engaging with a diverse range of people, have professional approach to your work and a continuous improvement mindset.
Demonstrated facility management experience leading a dynamic and complex business operation, preferably in the management of public community leisure and recreation facilities.Broad knowledge of sports and leisure concepts and trends including a sound knowledge of the latest technology and programs.Ability to develop and support leaders to deliver on KPIs through engagement, performance planning and individual development plans.Experience in planning and execution of operational, financial and people plans to deliver successful outcomes.Ability to plan, interpret and implement business, marketing, promotional and maintenance plans for the Centre.Demonstrated experience in implementation and monitoring of OH&S system, including policies, procedures, work systems, certification, training and advice.Tertiary qualification in recreation or sports management or related discipline with several years related experience, or less formal qualifications and extensive related experience.If this sounds like the role for you, then click apply now!
