The Haymarket Foundation is a local, secular, charitable organisation that works with people experiencing homelessness and other disadvantage in Sydney.The Haymarket Foundation exists to give opportunities to people marginalised by society. We understand the people we work with come from a background of complex trauma, and we use this understanding to advocate and deliver multidisciplinary services that are inclusive, safe, and person-centered.The Haymarket Centre (THC) is a 28-bed crisis accommodation facility. The service is open 24 hours per day, 365 days a year, with social work and case management services delivered using a harm minimisation, trauma informed approach. The goal of this service is to stabilise clients through pro-active case management and advocacy work to establish pathways to permanent accommodation.ABOUT THE ROLEThe Centre Manager is responsible for overseeing the crisis accommodation service at the Haymarket Centre (THC). This position involves leading and supporting a dedicated team that delivers residential and case work services to people experiencing homelessness.The Centre Manager collaborates closely with the Manager Client Services to ensure compliance with quality standards and Centre policies while also coordinating data collection and preparing reports related to the Centre's programs.The role also encompasses coordinating external medical, healthcare, and support services, ensuring effective collaboration and integration of services to enhance client health and well-being.ABOUT YOUYou have a positive attitude, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external partners. You thrive working in a cause-driven environment and demonstrate high emotional intelligence and empathy when working with vulnerable communities.Key ResponsibilitiesDuties but not limited to:Ensure services are delivered to meet client needs; that they include effective client participation and provide a sensitive and timely response to client issues, in line with organisational policies.Lead the team to perform all job responsibilities utilising the principles of trauma informed, strengths-based care, accessibility and cultural competency; and embed and lead a culture of continuous quality improvement.Working with the Manager Client Services to ensure effective staff recruitment, onboarding and performance management systems are in place and to support staff to undertake their role effectively and appropriately.Ensure that the Haymarket Centre is delivering services in accordance with its contractual obligations and funding body requirements for Review program performance against contract KPIs and communicate any risks of contract non-compliance to the Practice Manager in a timely manner.Liaise with the Manager Client Services and Business Administrator regarding Centre expenditure and ordering in line with budget financial policies and delegations.RequirementSelection CriteriaA relevant tertiary degree (social work, psychology, or equivalent in community services) permitting eligibility for membership of a professional body within Australia.5 years' experience in the area of homelessness, AOD, social work, or related fields, including working with complex clients in a residential setting.Comprehensive understanding of theories, approaches and practices in areas of intersectional homelessness, AOD, mental health, strength-based approach, trauma informed practice and cultural safety.Demonstrated experience supervising a team, managing performance and associated administrative systems (including rostering) in a comparable setting.Excellent interpersonal skills including positive communication, de-escalation techniques, conflict resolution and ability to work collaboratively within the Haymarket Foundation team as well as with external services.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, organise and plan to effectively manage a complex working environment.Excellent level of computer literacy.Software competencies: A high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).Please note the Haymarket Foundation is an equal opportunity employer: anyone who meets the above criteria will be considered for this role.
