Cemeteries and Records OfficerPosition DescriptionPosition-Description-Cemeteries-and-Records-Officer-26.06.2024.pdf(PDF, 258KB)Berrigan Shire Council are seeking a dedicated and organised Cemeteries and Records Officer to join our Corporate Services Directorate. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient administration of the Council's records management system and the coordination of cemetery operations. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, empathetic, and capable of maintaining high standards of service in line with legislative and policy requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESRecords Management: Maintain the Council's Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS) in compliance with the State Records Act 1998 and Council policies.Legislative Support: Assist with the Council's responsibilities under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 and Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.Cemetery Coordination: Oversee the operations of Council's cemeteries, including interments, scheduling of works and records management.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTSCurrent Driver Licence.Certificate IV in Recordkeeping or equivalent, or the ability to complete it.Demonstrated experience working within Local Government (preferred).BENEFITSSupport for ongoing study.Dynamic environment that values willingness to learn and grow.Full-time position with a 70-hour, 9-day fortnight.This position is a full-time position classified at Band 10, Entry level under Council's salary structure with a salary range of $65,505.08 to $71,400.06 per annum plus 11.5% statutory superannuation (from 1 July 2024).Conditions are in accordance with Local Government (State) Award 2023.All applications must be marked PO/41/2024 and include a Cover letter, Resume & Completed Application form; a copy of the application form is available on this page or by contacting Sam Armer, HR Coordinator on 03 5888 5100.If you would like to discuss this position further, please contact Keelan McDonald on (03) 5888 5100.Applications will be received up to 9am Friday, 12 July 2024 Applications should be marked "Confidential" – PO/41/2024and forwarded to:Chief Executive OfficerBerrigan Shire Council56 Chanter StreetBERRIGAN NSW 2712.Or to Berrigan Shire Council is an Equal Opportunities Employer
