Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) is seeking an experienced and dedicated Nurse Manager Grade 3 to join their Specialist Palliative Care Service at Long Jetty Health Care Facility on the beautiful Central Coast.
This permanent full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic, multidisciplinary team providing exceptional palliative care to patients in various settings, including hospitals, residential aged care facilities, and at home.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compassionate care while driving service improvements and cultural change across the Central Coast.
As the Nurse Manager for the Palliative Care Service, you will oversee the operational management of the service and lead a multidisciplinary team working across multiple locations.
Your role will include managing human and financial resources, ensuring the efficient allocation of staff and resources, and overseeing the quality and safety of patient care.
You will be responsible for improving service delivery, coordinating care, and promoting excellence in professional nursing practice.
Working closely with the Director of Palliative Care and other senior leaders, you will drive initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes, enhancing service performance, and ensuring that the service is aligned with both local and national palliative care frameworks and policies.
Additionally, you will manage key stakeholder relationships, including external partnerships with the Ministry of Health, and contribute to strategic planning and service development at the local health district level.
Work hours are 0830 to 1700 Monday to Friday.
The position is varied and interesting and requires a substantial knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and eMR.
Excellent communication skills, relevant clinical/management experience and strong problem-solving abilities will contribute to the position's success.
About You You have current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).You have relevant post-graduate qualifications in health service management and/or evidence of recent management experience encompassing human resource management, finance, and resource management.You have a current Drivers' Licence and willingness to travel within the Central Coast Local Health District as required.You have demonstrated effective leadership skills in implementing organisational culture and systems redesign within a healthcare setting.Where you'll be working
You will be based at Long Jetty Health Care Facility, a key hub for Central Coast Local Health District's palliative care services.
The facility provides care across multiple settings, including inpatient services, community-based care, and residential aged care facilities (RACFs).
You will manage a small, collaborative team of healthcare professionals, and work closely with other healthcare services within the district to ensure the coordination of care across the continuum.
