About the role
Orana Gardens is seeking a Catering Team Member - Kitchenhand on a casual and part- time basis to present and deliver over 375 high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents daily, prepared in our three on-site commercial kitchens. You will enjoy working with a large team that is committed and being able to make a difference in the lives of our residents.
Duties may include
Assistance in basic meal preparation and serving
Making tea and coffee and completing food delivery rounds
Assisting Chefs with food prep when required
Working to achieve and maintain a high standard of cleanliness
Checking and recording the temperature of food
Following all Food Safety Guidelines and the HACCP program
Assisting with deliveries of stock and stock rotation
Kitchen setup and setdown tasks
General cleaning
Essential Requirements
The successful applicants will be team players who enjoy interacting with older people and have the right heart and drive to serve.
Previous kitchen/servery experience in a similar role
Understanding of work health and safety and food safety practices
Ability to work unsupervised and take on physically demanding tasks
Previous experience in aged care (desirable)
Willingness to work as part of a busy, friendly team
Strong focus, positive attitude and well-organised
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced commercial kitchen
A current Police Check Certificate
