As
Category Analyst , you will take responsibility for providing analysis capability to help further develop the overarching Qantas Sourcing Strategy, as well as supporting the category team in relation to all category management activities. You will drive market and supplier investigations, identifying synergies and opportunities by performing complex data analysis across the procurement value chain.
You will be responsible for drafting reports and presentations based on data interpretation and recommending strategic improvements to foster operational efficiency and sustainable cost savings. You will be required to recommend strategic options for improving operational efficiency and buying practices. In doing so, you will drive continuous improvement through analysis of information and implement "best practice" initiatives.
What you'll bring to the role:
Advanced analytical skills (Excel), with experience collecting, organizing, and disseminating abundant information accurately.
Knowledge and experience in data visualization tools for example Power BI, Qlik, Tableau.
Demonstrated experience within an analytical position, ideally within Procurement / Finance.
Strong attention to detail, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to review critical business information and analyze it for trends to identify areas of improvement.
Exceptional verbal, written and visual communication skills with the ability to present findings in a polished way.
Prepare and summarize data reports for use by managers and senior executives.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.
Experience working in a complex / large corporate environment.
Confidence to challenge existing thinking and processes.
Entrepreneurial mindset, with an innovative approach to business planning.
Ability to work effectively with management and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
