By working at TAFE Queensland, you can be part of a highly experienced workforce closely connected with their industries and dedicated to delivering best practices and innovative training.Your OpportunityAs a Casual Clinical Facilitator, you will work with students within the Simulated Clinical Laboratory setting to instruct, support and assess students on their clinical knowledge and skills.
You will ensure the provision of quality education and facilitation of learning to develop their ability to link their theory to practice.
You will need to develop an understanding of the EN scope of practice.
This position reports to the Clinical Laboratory Team Leader and Nursing Operations Manager.
This is a Casual opportunity unless otherwise determined.The position will be based primarily at the Southport Campus however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland Brisbane-wide safety culture.Supervise directly and indirectly student's simulated learning and provide a range of training and assessment opportunities to meet the training package and vocational placement requirements.Liaise with TAFE Queensland, Gold Coast Vocational Placement Team about student issues.Mentor students through their Clinical Lab sessions, give feedback and be innovative with assisting students to meet their learning goals.Assess students competence against the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia; Standards for Enrolled Nurses through their performance within the simulated environment.Maintain TAFE Queensland, Gold Coast records of student's clinical assessment including the Simulated Practical Skills Record Book and rolls to meet contractual and audit requirements.Orientate students to the Simulated Clinical Laboratory (resources, workplace health and safety issues), conduct student debriefs and gain feedback student.
Contribute to TAFE Queensland, Gold Coast Nursing quality improvement process by contributing valuable industry feedback and current industry practices.Support the nursing team in the nursing simulation laboratory, using a variety of learning styles to conduct practical sessions.
How you will be assessedThe ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities: High level of clinical skills and the ability to apply within areas of specialty.Proven experience in building and sustaining productive internal and external key stakeholder relationships and working collaboratively to foster a positive and cohesive work environment.
Strong leadership skills and the ability to set a clear vision and sense of direction to achieve business outcomes.Sound understanding and application of adult learning principles.High level analytical and conceptual skills including ability to solve complex work related issues and develop innovative solutions to facilitate excellence in customer service.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements Current Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA Bachelor of Nursing qualificationMinimum 5 years post-graduate experience Possession of one of the following training and assessment credentials: TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; ORTAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (including units TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 or equivalent); OR Recency of clinical practice.
Working with Children Check (Blue Card) Highly desirable requirements: Experience as a clinical facilitator Note: Proof of qualifications and industry currency/experience to be provided at interview.
