The opportunity IFYS has an exciting opportunity for a Case Worker – Level Up to join the team in a newly developed program.
The role is a 12 month fixed-term, part-time contract.
The Level Up program works with First Nations young people in order to build their employment skills and knowledge within the construction industry.
Reporting to the Team Leader the Case Worker will operate within a client centred and strengths-based framework, integrating cultural practices within the program delivery with guidance from First Nations Elders as needed.
Our ideal candidate will have experience facilitating group work with young people, and experience or learning relevant to delivering First Nations education programs.

Fixed part-time role, 12 month contract 45 hours per fortnight, 4 days per working week Part-time hourly equivalent base $37.35 + super (Level 3 SCHADS award) Not-for-profit salary packaging options (package up to $15,900 per FBT year) Join a supportive, inclusive and vibrant team Unique in house training opportunities including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training, Preventing Child Sexual Exploitation and Sanctuary training Free access to the CALM Premium App + Flight Centre personal travel discounts Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Responsibilities of the role: Develop and facilitate group programs targeted towards First Nations young people in relation to employment and education Support young people to identify their individual needs and goals through individual case management plans Complete risk assessments for self, team and young people and respond appropriately, engaging other support services if and when required Timely and accurate completion of administrative duties, case notes, case plans, time sheets and incident reports Work collaboratively with key stakeholders such as other employers, training providers and other community agencies Advocate on behalf of individuals to ensure that services accessed and provided are relevant, flexible and accessible Requirements for the role: Professional experience working with young people in a therapeutic capacity Diploma or Tertiary qualification in a relevant area of study will be considered favourably (i.e Diploma of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Education) Experience in facilitating group work with young people Demonstrated knowledge of strengths-based and client-centred practice Demonstrated strong cultural knowledge and understanding of First Nations communities, with the ability to engage and support young people in a culturally sensitive and respectful manner Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful: Valid open driver's license with no restrictions, and own reliable transport QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card) Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2) National Criminal History Check (a new check will be conducted through IFYS systems) If you would like further information on this role or would like to talk to a Recruitment Officer, please call (07) 5438 3000 and ask to speak to Josh in the Recruitment team.
