If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you!The Cooma & Region Homelessness Support Service is dedicated to supporting individuals facing homelessness across our beautiful region.
We provide tailored support, advocacy, and outreach to help our clients regain stability and independence.
Our service includes 4 two-bedroom crisis accommodation units and 2 transitional units in Cooma, offering a safe and supportive environment for those in need.You will provide living skills to clients to support them to maintain tenancy and work collaboratively with other services to deliver positive outcomes for clients.Your key responsibilities will be to:Respond to referrals and conduct assessments as required.Induct clients into the service including the property, facilities, financials, and regulations.Provide intensive and strength-based case management with a recovery focus.Create individualised support plans including referral to supplementary services as needed.Provide ongoing case management sessions with clients and review progression.Monitor the housing facilities to ensure that all aspects of the regulations are upheld.Complete a range of reports, maintain client files and administrative duties for the efficient running of the service.Provide support in seeking long-term sustainable housing options.Requirements for SuccessRelevant qualifications and/or substantial relevant experience in the community services sector.Knowledge and experience working with client issues relating to homelessness including domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health etc.First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)Current NSW Driver's LicenseBefore starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.Our CultureOur innovative and inclusive culture will ensure you feel valued at Mission Australia as you help Australians in need and develop in your career.
