About Centrecare Centrecare is a not-for-profit organisation with just over 300 employees and is committed to delivering quality professional counselling, support, accommodation, mediation and training services in over 11 locations across the Perth metropolitan, Goldfields and South West regions.
About the Services Centrecare's Family and Accommodation Service provides support and medium-term housing for clients who are homeless (up to 12 months) and can also support clients to overcome the difficulties they may currently be experiencing in keeping a home.
This will include working with families, and women with children escaping domestic violence to ensure people who have experienced homelessness are effectively linked with mainstream services to address a range of issues including employment, health, financial management and social integration to achieve long term, secure, stable housing.
Centrecare's Housing Support Worker Corrective Service Men provides transitional support to men leaving correctional facilities and/or Corrective Services Accommodation Support Programs in the metropolitan area.
It also assists to secure and maintain stable accommodation and facilitate reintegration back into the community.
About the Role As the Housing Case Worker, you will assist clients to address previous homelessness issues and to assist them to obtain and maintain long term stable accommodation options after exiting Centrecare's Family Accommodation Service or Housing Support Worker Corrective Service Men program.
A few specifics To undertake assessment and counselling of children specifically and their families so as to improve and enhance their overall personal and social development, and their health and wellbeing.
To deliver therapeutic and skill development services to children and their family's include assessments, counselling, outreach, capacity building, information, and referral opportunities for clients.
Provide access to recreational opportunities for children and their families where possible and appropriate.
To establish relevant networks and links with the community and other service providers to ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
Selection Criteria Recognised tertiary level qualifications in Social Work, Mental Health, Drug and Alcohol, Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences or related disciplines.
Relevant experience in the areas of outreach, homelessness, individual/family support and/or case management.
Relevant experience working within the justice environment and/pr supporting people exiting prison.
Possession of a current 'C' (previously 'A') class driver's licence and vehicle National Police Certificate Working with Children Card (or ability to obtain one) Benefits Access to corporate health cover provided for by Bupa and medibank.
