About the role The Young Parents Program takes a strengths-based early intervention approach, building the capacity of young parents to live independently in appropriate housing, develop parenting and life skills to ensure best outcomes for their children.
In this position you will support young parents aged 13-24 years with complex needs to develop independent parenting and living skills, through integrated, individualised case management, behaviour support and direct parenting to ensure best possible outcomes for children.
What you will bring Sound casework/ case management experience including holistic assessment of client needs and development of case plans Experience in working with people in the community who have complex needs and experiences Experience in working competently with staff and clients from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds with respect and humility Experience in working respectfully and competently with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities Understanding of adolescent development and best practice working with young women and men with complex needs and behaviours and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs and issues facing young parents (aged 13-24) and their children Demonstrated understanding of parent craft, child development, health care needs of babies/children and best practice in parenting newborns, toddlers, and younger children. Willingness and ability to do weekday shift work including morning shifts, evening shifts and sleepovers Working with children check Drivers licence Benefits that act for you, while you act for humanity Financial wellbeing: In addition to your pay, you can take advantage of salary packaging that could provide you with a great way to reduce the amount of tax you pay - and get more from your pay. Further information This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award - Level 4. Salary from $85,145.84+ superannuation + access to salary packaging.
