As part of a multidisciplinary mental health service delivering high quality mental health care and, in accordance with Mental Health Service principles, National Mental Health Standards, Agency policy, legal requirements and relevant professional competencies.
Carry out assessments, treatments and provide clinical care to individuals referred to the team in collaboration with other team members. This will include the application of a wide range of skills and interventions.Act as a medical and psychiatric resource for other team members.Seek appropriate clinical support and supervision from senior colleagues, the Director or Delegate.Promote and maintain close links with colleagues and service providers to ensure continuity of patient care. Liaise with other community service providers, especially GP's.Participate in medical student teaching and in-service training of staff.The area: The position works within a variety of Custodial/Forensic environments and the occupant will have regular daily contact with persons within a custodial setting or forensic patients admitted to the Secure Forensic Mental Health Unit – the Wilfred Lopes centre.
The occupant will be required to adhere to all security practices and procedures within correctional centres and the Wilfred Lopes Centre.
Some intrastate and interstate travel may be required.Details of Appointment Permanent full time, day worker (with on-call) position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022.You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
