This position leads the development, coordination and delivery of projects working autonomously with all stakeholders and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.Key Deliverables:Prepare the annual capital projects program for Council's building and sport court assets.Timely delivery of Council's capital projects program to include:Preparation of scope and specifications for capital projects in consultation with stakeholders.Engage and liaise with architects and other building consultants.Coordinate tenders/quotations and contractor selection.Liaise and supervise contractors.Update Council's project management system.Monitor project expenditure.Support the development of asset management plans for Council's building and sport and recreation assets.Support the delivery of major projects by participating in project delivery teams.Provide support to the Property Maintenance Officers.Initiate and be actively involved in continuous improvement initiatives.Person Specification:Essential criteria:Initiative, honesty, and self-motivation.Advanced communication skills (written, verbal, electronic).A Certificate or Diploma in Project and/or Asset Management or extensive experience in either field.Significant Project Management experience.Extensive experience in capital works programs.Experience coordinating and supervising contractors.Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.Understanding of asset management principles.Risk management experience.Knowledge of building construction and development approval process.Knowledge of statutory requirements.Knowledge of WHS requirements and procedures.Communication and negotiation skills.Ability to financially arrange projects and report on variations.Time management and organizational skills.Understanding of financial principles.Report writing skills.IT competence and willingness to learn new technologies.Standard conditions:Satisfactory completion of a National Police Clearance.Satisfactory completion of applicable Medical Assessment.Must be either an Australian resident or possess the legal right to work in Australia.Comply with existing Work, Health and Safety legislation.Embrace ethical behavior and report any suspected instances of fraud.The incumbent will perform other duties as required.Other conditions specific to the role:Must hold a valid, full driver's license.Some out of hours work may be required.Attendance at Council meetings (after hours) may be required.Position description confirmation and acknowledgement:By signing the 'City of Marion Employment Acceptance Statement' in your Letter of Offer, you are agreeing to the Position Description attached to your Offer.#J-18808-Ljbffr
