About the role We are seeking a CAD Systems Manager to join our Perth based team.
The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance and optimisation of CAD systems, along with providing technical expertise in CAD software to facilitate efficient an effective design processes.
Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of CAD software suits tailored to specific project needs.
Ensure CAD systems are updated with the latest software releases to maintain optimal performance and compatibility.
Troubleshoot technical issues related to CAD software.
Develop customised CAD templates and workflows to streamline design processes and enhance productivity.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to understand project requirements and tailor CAD solutions accordingly.
Provide training and technical support to relevant staff.
Develop training materials, tutorials and documentation to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure proficiency among team members.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance and standards and identify areas for improvement.
Recommend innovative solutions and strategies to leverage CAD technology for continuous improvement and competitive advantage.
About you Tertiary or Certificate in Technology or Design desired and/or equivalent business experience.
5+ years' experience in a similar role Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
Expert knowledge in CAD system administration and management.
Understanding of Bentley products – Micro Station, Open Buildings, Open Roads and Project Wise for managing large scale engineering projects.
Autodesk Software – Proficiency of Auto CAD, Revit, Civil3 D, RECAP and Navisworks and the understanding of workflows between the products and other applications.
Knowledge of programming languages -VBA, and Python for automation of repetitive tasks.
Knowledge with DWG, DGN, IFC and BIM workflows for efficient data exchange and strong understanding of file formats and conversions between Autodesk and Bentley products.
Understanding of BIM processes and standards.
Knowledge of managing licenses and subscriptions for Bentley and Autodesk software.
Understanding of network-based CAD management systems like Project Wise and BIM 360 or Auto CAD Vault and familiarity with CAD environments in the cloud.
