Our client is a globally renowned high-frequency trading firm, recognized for its expertise in market-making across various asset classes. With a strong emphasis on technology, they invest heavily in proprietary trading systems and tools to enhance trading capabilities and operational efficiency. They are currently seeking a hands-on Team Lead for their Sydney office.
As the Team Lead for the Derivatives Market-Making OMS team, you will play a pivotal role in leading the development and enhancement of the Order Management System (OMS) and Execution Management System (EMS) for derivatives trading. You will oversee a team of developers, driving innovation, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-performance trading solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and implementation of the derivatives market-making OMS/EMS.
Collaborate with traders, quantitative researchers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Manage and mentor a team of 5-6 developers, promoting best practices in software development and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Ensure the system's performance, reliability, and scalability to meet the demands of high-frequency trading.
Implement and optimize FIX protocol communication for efficient trade execution and reporting.
Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to enhance code quality.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in technology to continually improve the trading platform.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
At least 7-10 years of experience in the financial industry, with 4-5 years in a leadership role.
Proficient in C# and Python development; strong Java background may also be considered.
Knowledge with FIX protocols and exchange connectivity.
Domain knowledge of derivatives markets and trading practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
