Are you embarking on your IT career but feeling unsure about where to start? Do you want an exciting opportunity to dive into Application Management, SQL Databases, Data and System Integrations, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, or Geographical Information Systems (GIS)? We are looking for a Business Systems Trainee who wants to build a strong foundation for a successful career in Business Systems. Reporting to the Coordinator Business Systems, you will complete a Certificate III in Information Technology qualification over 24 months through a combination of formal training with a TAFE and practical on-the-job experience with the Shire of Murray.
During this time you will learn in depth about the core business systems in use at the Shire of Murray and how they are used to drive the organisation forward, giving you the opportunity to:
Understand how an Enterprise Geographical Information System (GIS) works Create maps, datasets, and low code/no code applications Learn about SQL Databases, perform queries, and maintain the systems Discover how to integrate data between different systems Plan upgrades to applications used across the organisation, minimising the impact to end users Get an understanding of how an ERP Solution works Learn about process mapping and its importance to an organisation Liaise with key stakeholders to gather requirements Use change management to guide users through the implementation of changes Discover how to present to small groups Learn critical thinking What you'll bring to the table
