About the role
With eight sugarcane stations along the east coast of Queensland and New South Wales, SRA undertakes extensive field trial programs as part of its sugarcane research projects.
Business Support Officer roles provide office and site support services by implementing administrative systems, policies and procedures. The purpose of the role is to assist in the seamless running of our sites. This role will predominantly support the SRA Mackay station and is a part of a team that provides support services throughout the state.
This role is fixed term until 30 October 2026. This position works closely with site leaders and other Business Support Officers at other sites to ensure safe and effective management of station requirements to support the business.
You will be responsible for a variety of functions, including but not limited to:
Front office coordinationArranging facility maintenance and managementFleet managementBudget managementSafety and contractor administration managementAsset managementProcurement of suppliesHuman resources supportAccounts administration.This role entails dealing with a diverse group of individuals both internally and externally, from property service contractors to scientists and researchers to farm operations and corporate services.

You must have considerable flexibility, adaptability, sound judgement, decision-making skills and interpersonal skills. You will be able to negotiate with a variety of stakeholders internally and externally and have great influencing skills.
