Reporting directly to the Principal and School Board, this strategic role requires a high degree of financial and commercial acumen. It is responsible for overseeing all business operations, including the Whitsunday Anglican School Foundation and the Parents and Friends Association.As Business Manager, you will drive operational excellence, financial robustness, and strategic growth, ensuring the School is a respected and resourceful environment that provides exceptional educational services to students and their families. This role is pivotal in shaping the School's future through effective management and strong leadership that aligns with our values and vision.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Leadership & Planning: Advise and lead in strategic and master planning, fostering sustainable growth and development.Financial Management: Oversee budgets, financial planning, and reporting to ensure financial stability and transparency.Facilities & IT Management: Ensure optimal functioning of school facilities and IT infrastructure to support educational outcomes.Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain rigorous compliance and risk management for all business functions, safeguarding school operations.Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day business activities, aligning resources and systems for efficiency and service quality.Project Leadership: Drive initiatives that support the School's strategic goals, enhancing our educational impact.Staff Leadership & Development: Lead a dedicated team, overseeing appraisals and professional growth to ensure high performance.Stakeholder Engagement: Build and sustain positive relationships with staff, parents, external providers, and community members.Candidate Profile:The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a strong finance, operations, and strategic planning background.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in a Business-related field (Finance, Accounting, Strategic Planning)CPA or CA designationMaster's degree in Business, Leadership, Governance, IT, or a related field will be highly regardedExperience & Skills:Minimum of 5 years' experience in finance/accounting with proven leadership in a similar roleAdvanced analytical skills and high-level competence with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and spreadsheetsProficiency in stakeholder relationship management with a customer-centric approachStrong organisational skills with experience managing building projects and teamsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, promoting positive relationships across the School communityOther Requirements:Eligibility for, or possession of, a current Working with Children Blue CardWhy Join Our Team?This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within an educational setting, working collaboratively with an experienced team to shape the future of Whitsunday Anglican School.
