The organization is seeking a skilled BI Insights Analyst for a 12-month contract role. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in SAS, SQL, and Tableau, with a demonstrated ability to convert complex data into actionable insights. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can thrive in a dynamic environment and contribute significantly to the organization's data analysis and reporting initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize SAS to perform advanced data analysis and generate detailed reports that support strategic decision-making. Develop and execute complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze large datasets. Design and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau to visualize data trends and insights.
Insights Generation: Analyze data patterns and trends to provide actionable insights that drive business improvements and inform policy recommendations. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver customized reports and dashboards.
Technical Support: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data analysis tools and reporting processes. Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across various platforms and reports.
Documentation and Communication: Document methodologies, processes, and findings to ensure clarity and reproducibility. Present insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Collaboration: Work closely with team members, including data scientists, business analysts, and IT professionals, to align on objectives and deliverables. Participate in meetings and workshops to contribute to project planning and execution.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAS for statistical analysis and data manipulation. Strong experience with SQL for querying and managing relational databases. Expertise in Tableau for creating and managing data visualizations and dashboards.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in a BI or data analysis role, preferably within a government or public sector environment. Proven ability to handle large datasets and perform complex analyses.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail with the capability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
Additional Information:
This role may require occasional travel or remote work, depending on project needs. Candidates must be authorized to work in Australia and meet any specific security clearance requirements if applicable.
