About the Role Cannings is looking for a Business Director who will significantly contribute to the firm's overall performance and revenues, identify and develop new business opportunities, and serve as a valued leader and resource for clients and client account teams.
As a Business Director, you have the expertise and ability to successfully build and manage businesses and people. You will work closely with the Head of Cannings to achieve the firm's vision, values, and management philosophies.
You will add depth to client capabilities, leverage the full resources of the Ogilvy network with clients and provide support to consultants and other team members as well as the Head of Cannings.
Key Responsibilities: Actively lead the growth and development of the consultancy's practice areas.Effectively manage the account teams to ensure that work and service are delegated to the appropriate experience levels within the team structure.Develop the professional and management skills of team members; provide ongoing feedback and training opportunities for the team.Identify and develop 'real' new business opportunities and take a leadership role in new business pitches.Have a major role in company efforts to recruit and hire staff including active involvement in identifying new talent and the interview process.Lead company efforts to train and develop staff including active involvement in identifying talent for progression.Provide strategic counsel to direct reports, and manage their overall performance assessment, training and development.Work with the Head of Cannings to identify and realise training, leadership and career development needs and opportunities.Engage with senior journalists of the relevant media to maintain their understanding of how the media works, and new trends and apply these to the client as required.Develop and maintain their networks within the broader Ogilvy family.Regularly provide leadership in driving a positive and supportive work culture.
