The Role: From day one you will be allocated a portfolio of existing key clients in the NSW and ACT region - your job is then to engage, meet, present and pitch, educating them on the products, risk exposure and relevant context to capture opportunities and increase policy count. Eventually earning your own delegated authority to help assist your clients there and then, when needed - and if you can't, refer it to your specialist underwriting team.
This will involve dealing with brokers who cater for micro-SME to mid-market clients and will require you to engage via all medians (phone, email, video and face to face).
Reporting into the Head of Distribution you will be responsible for managing your allocated portfolio of clients across NSW and ACT on a daily basis working within the national BD team across Australia leverage and share key relationships, maximise opportunities and convert leads together to grow the business.
With plenty of opportunities to meet and engage your partners, you will take part in industry events, seminars and webinars to expand your connections and grow your knowledge on the product offerings and service your market. The main focus is to get out there, meeting people and letting clients understand where you and the team can assist with relation to specialist cyber products.
Responsibilities: Engaging with your broker portfolio, letting them know what we do (through pitches, presentations etc.) Growing the company as a whole's policy count! Capture on the spot business with your own DUA or relay back to your underwriting team. Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and other stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and retention. Utilise the technology for planning and execution to manage your desk. Administrative duties with regular CRM updating. Information and well kept records are vital. Build and execute your strategy to take on the market! Partner and collaborate with your immediate BD team and other divisions to help assist your clients and your decision making. Candidate Profile: You are highly energetic, engaging and competitive. Hold relationships and customer service in high regard. Have an insurer - not broker - background preferably holding previous roles of relationship management or BDU roles. Experienced with clients focused on commercial or specialist insurance products - preferably business pack, for SME to mid-market clients. Must have previous experience engaging with brokers and managing your own broker relationships that sit outside of the 'big 4' brokerages. Be able to travel - including interstate - to meet with clients, attend events and presentations. Have an interest in technology, cyber and the future of insurance! Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) - Your stakeholder engagement skills will ensure your success.
