Your Role:We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong technical sales background in electronics or manufacturing services.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in prospecting and securing new business, acting as a crucial bridge between clients and Extel's headquarters.
This position emphasizes new business acquisition, follow-up on leads, and deal closure, making it ideal for a results-driven sales professional.
Key Responsibilities: Market Expansion: Identify and pursue business opportunities, particularly in capital cities and major regions within Australia & New Zealand.Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture long-term partnerships, visiting client sites to promote Extel's end-to-end service offerings.Proposal & Bid Management: Collaborate with Extel's bid team to respond to inquiries, RFIs/RFQs, and tenders, providing tailored solutions.Strategic Planning & Reporting: Define business development targets with Extel executives, tracking progress in the CRM and reporting monthly.Industry Engagement: Attend trade shows and industry events to expand market knowledge and foster relationships.Key Requirements: Education: Tertiary qualifications in Marketing & Sales, Commerce, Electronics Engineering, or Manufacturing Services are highly regarded.Experience: Minimum of 5 years in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in electronics OEM or manufacturing services.Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with sectors such as Defence & Aerospace, Medical Devices, and High-End Industrial is advantageous.Sales Acumen: Proven track record in customer acquisition and long-term relationship building.Technical Expertise: Background in electronics design, development, and/or OEM product sales is a strong advantage.Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and professional in presentation.Next StepsAt Extel, we are an equal opportunity employer and are committed to encouraging diversity and social inclusion across all our departments.
