The Opportunity: We have a new opening for a Business Development Manager to join our growing inside sales team in Sydney. This exciting role is focused on business development of Morningstar's managed portfolio solutions to financial advisers. We are seeking an ambitious self-starter with a successful track record of identifying, prospecting, and qualifying leads generated from our outbound marketing and national accounts team. They will play a crucial role in converting sales pipeline across Australia off our extensive digital marketing initiatives.
Responsibilities: Identify, prospect, qualify, secure, and win new advisers to recommend Morningstar managed portfolios to their clients.Upsell to advisers who have already entrusted segments of their clients to Morningstar managed portfolios.Work alongside advisers, business owners, and their operational teams to remove barriers preventing their practice from achieving their desired business goals.Collaborate closely with marketing to generate demand and convert that demand into leads.Maintain strong knowledge of Morningstar managed portfolio solutions and their benefits.Collect and analyze data pertinent to advice businesses through engagement to determine problems to solve.Follow a solutions-based, consultative approach to sales, understanding adviser and practice needs.Influence and educate advisers on the value proposition of utilizing our managed portfolio solutions.Make outbound calls and zoom meetings with qualified advisers.Achieve required sales activity metrics such as calls, meetings, and targeted contacts.Complete quarterly objectives and key activity results to maximize sales success.Complete required sales processes and metrics in Salesforce accurately.Perform other duties as necessary.Qualifications: A bachelor's degree.At least 3 years of professional work experience in business development or serving financial advisers.Results-driven with excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Positive, goal-oriented attitude with strong influencing and negotiation skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.Excellent communicator, both oral and written.Interest in investments and the financial advice industry.RG146 certified or ability to attain certification within the first 12 months of hire.Human Skills: Strong drive to succeed and excellent planning and time-management skills.Ability to listen effectively and show curiosity about others' needs.Results-focused team player attitude.Organized individual who meets deadlines.Empathy and maturity to own and learn from challenges.Useful but not necessary: Experience using Tableau and Salesforce (or similar).
