Business Development Manager
This is a permanent position based at our Mascot offices.
Join our dynamic team at Global Forwarding, a leader in the logistics and freight forwarding industry. We are seeking a motivated Business Development Executive to drive growth and expand our market presence. This role offers an exciting opportunity to leverage our global network and contribute to our continued success.
Some of your duties could include:
Achieve national and state gross profit budgets by driving incremental sales.
Increase gross profit and volumes to enhance economies of scale and service reliability.
Represent TGF with integrity, adhering to our values and ethical standards.
Provide accurate and timely information to client services, operations, and sales support to streamline processes.
Ensure high reliability and consistency in service delivery, aiming for a seamless customer experience.
Collaborate with Toll's global network to boost gross profit and volume in key trade lanes.
Partner with local service providers to optimize process efficiencies.
Identify target clients based on strategic criteria such as annual turnover, industry segment, key trade lanes, and growth potential.
Offer market feedback and competitor pricing insights to the Pricing Manager to maintain competitive pricing strategies.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Previous experience in the Freight Forwarding industry is essential.
Proven track record in customer retention and growth strategies.
Ability to collaborate effectively with customers to implement supply chain solutions.
Strong business acumen and a focus on commercial outcomes to enhance team profitability.
In-depth knowledge of global forwarding operations, markets, competitors, carriers, and services.
Effective task prioritization and time management skills, particularly under pressure.
Comprehensive understanding of freight, customs procedures, geography, and trade lanes.
Detailed knowledge of trade practices in major trading partners such as China, Australia, or the USA.
Enthusiasm for achieving challenging goals and targets.
