The role: Our client, an Australian owned and nationally recognised timber, sanding and polishing business is looking for an energetic Business Development Manager (BDM) to play a pivotal role in driving sales and business initiatives in Sydney and the greater Sydney region.
What you'll do: • Consistent presentation of the client's brand to existing and prospective customers through proactive and reactive phone and face-to-face contact. 
• Ensure there is a consistent flow of valuable and profitable projects being converted from leads into contracts.
• Maintenance of the systems with up to date and relevant information including CRM and document management.
• Identifying, evaluating and acquiring new business and clients, whilst developing and implementing strategies to better service existing clients 
• Establish new customer relationships through proactive telemarketing.
• Prospect and present to key clients for project leads, including through cold-calling, industry presentations and events, face to face meetings.
• Prepare project information for quoting, and assist through this process.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive client service plan to ensure that the Client personally contacts key target client on a regular, planned basis and to actively increase repeat business.
• Build and maintain long term relationships with prospects and existing clients throughout the sales process
• Bring revenue to the Client by engaging with customers and securing the right projects with the target profit margins
• Contribute to improving the systems and processes of the company, and what you do has to support and progress other teams and players
• Achieve and exceed weekly key client contact communication targets to build pipeline and ensure throughput
• Contribute to the development of marketing campaigns, telemarketing scripts and strategy development and reporting.
• Develop & execute sales strategies.

• Attention to detail, accurate yet proactive.
• Timber Industry experience (desirable).
