The Role We are currently looking for a highly motivated, passionate and results driven Business Development Manager to join our Sales team, based at our Sydney Airport Hotel 
This is an exciting opportunity for a sales focused individual wanting to develop their career and take on a new challenge within the Hotel and Events industry.
The primary purpose of the role is to:
Identify and develop new business opportunities from the Corporate and MICE market segmentsMaintain relationships with existing clients Assist with local area marketing promotions and sales activities at expos, conferences and conventionsMaintain accurate and up to date data in the CRM databaseSupport the Sales & Marketing Team and assist the Director of Sales & Marketing as neededWhat we are looking for A well-presented, self-motivated Sales professional with strong people and negotiation skillsCapable of working in a fast paced environment, under pressure and able to meet deadlines and achieve our business objectivesExcellent communication skills and exceptional attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office products and general computer skillsAbility to multi-task, prioritise work and manage a variety of projectsExperience with Sales software systems such as Sales Force Delphi, OperaPrevious experience working within Sales & Marketing, Events or a Hotel environment is desirablePassion for Hotels and HospitalityKey responsibilities include but are not limited to To source and establish new business opportunities within Corporate & MICE market segmentsProactively maintain and service a portfolio of key accountsAssist the DOSM in achieving ROI objectives in sales strategiesAssist in preparation of the annual business plan for salesManage customer satisfaction outcomes to facilitate repeat business whilst ensuring customer retentionTo sell the hotel as a total concept ensuring maximum business in all areas: rooms, conferences and food and beverageOrganise and participate in client entertaining, functions, familiarisations / educational, site inspections and Industry network eventsRecognise and act on potential business opportunities, Including responsibility for tender/RFP process for relevant clientsReview forecasts, competitor activity and marketShare reports and make recommendations on short to midterm sales and marketing activityPrepare client correspondence including rate letters, tenders and general correspondenceParticipate in designated travel and trade shows, where required. Some evening and weekend shows anticipatedInterstate and country sales trips as requiredMaintain a thorough knowledge of competitor's products, developments, rates and policiesThe ideal candidate will be Passionate about Sales and looking for the next step up in their career A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar business development roleDesire to pro-actively go out and find new business opportunitiesAbility to travel when required as well as a holder of current NSW Drivers LicenseA track record of lead generation and building business across managed accountsImmaculate personal presentation skills and groomingDemonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPassion for hospitality service excellence, with an eye for detail towards delivering an unrivalled customer service experienceAbility to foster team spirit with a positive, can do attitudeExcellent problem solving / researching skillsPrevious experience within a hotel environmentWorking knowledge and use of Delphi CRM systems preferableAnd most importantly - the ability to be a Team Player with a positive and 'can do' attitudeAbout the Benefits Employees of Stamford Hotels and Resorts are entitled to many outstanding benefits, including:
