Role Objective We are seeking a tenacious and results-driven Business Development Manager (BDM) with the option for an immediate start.
The successful candidate will excel at winning new business by expertly targeting clients, building trusted relationships, and executing strategic sales plans with precision.
The BDM will thrive in a collaborative environment, working well both as part of a small team and independently.
Their key responsibilities will include increasing market share, driving business growth, and maintaining market awareness in industries such as project logistics, transport, infrastructure, and construction on a national scale.
In this role, the BDM will contribute to business development and growth by implementing effective sales and marketing strategies, building and solidifying key partnerships, negotiating tenders, proposals, and quotes, and providing innovative solutions that meet client needs.
We seek a candidate who embraces a "can-do" attitude, always finding ways to say "yes it can be done" when others say "no." The ideal candidate will have experience in the transport and trucking sectors and will work closely with, and report directly to, the Managing Director.
Essential Skills and Experience : Experience in the Trucking Transport and Logistics Industry Strong knowledge of "Chain of Responsibility" and "Fatigue Management" Hands-on operational experience Knowledge in ICN and Tendering platforms Key Responsibilities: Source leads and implement growth and sales strategies Assist with contract management in operations where needed Contribute to the marketing and business plan Meet sales, growth, and profit targets Build and maintain a detailed client database Collaborate on content for marketing campaigns and social media Promote the company's values, innovative technology, and logistics solutions Work closely with operations to manage off-contract projects Develop relationships with prospective clients and key stakeholders Provide excellent customer service and maintain client retention Collaborate with the Estimating and Finance team to create tailored tenders, proposals, and quotes Book and secure subcontractors for off-contract work Report and forecast on sales pipelines against budget Contribute to a positive and professional team culture Key Competency and Skills: Customer-focused with a drive for exceptional sales and growth results Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the Logistics & Supply Chain sectors Strong existing networks and proven sales results Passionate about exceeding sales targets and business growth Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels Exceptional relationship-building, networking, and presentation skills Problem-solving ability with a focus on innovative solutions Skilled in using marketing campaigns and social media to build pipelines Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, Word) and CRM systems Familiar with tender portals like ICN, Austender, Australian Tenders Experience preparing quotes and invoices using accounting software Confident in conducting presentations to clients Dedication to providing the highest levels of customer service Personal Attributes: Passionate, energetic, and ambitious Driven to succeed with strong negotiation skills Forward-thinking with attention to detail Proactive, organized, and a strong multitasker Solutions-oriented with a "can-do" attitude If you're passionate about logistics, transport, and business development, and you're ready to take on a role that challenges and rewards you, we want to hear from you.
