This role is at the junction of rapid, volatile, change, linking data and renewable energy generation and storage infrastructure with the fibre connectivity to monitor, control and trade.
Leveraging your passion for fibre-related aspects of telecommunications and optionally electrical projects, you will spearhead the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities. This entails collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to tailor product and service offerings, ensuring alignment with clients' technical and commercial objectives. Through a consultative approach, you will drive the generation and acquisition of short and long-term profitable business, grounded in a deep understanding of customers' needs and priorities. Together, we will transform Australia's telecommunications landscape for generations to come.
You will drive projects from initial engagement to receiving Purchase Orders, ensuring seamless handover to delivery teams. By actively engaging stakeholders across various levels of the business, including C-Level executives, technical experts and management, you will cultivate trust and gain insight into their unique business needs and challenges. You will craft strategic sales plans based on PLUS ES's distinctive value proposition, identifying both short and long-term opportunities, leading qualification, pursuit, bid, and negotiation efforts.
In this role, you will orchestrate collaboration between internal support functions and external teams, such as partners, to ensure the delivery of customised solutions. Your focus will be on maximising opportunities and demonstrating how PLUS ES enhances value by surpassing client business objectives. Success will hinge on your ability to forge lasting customer relationships through diverse channels, including direct contact, meetings, presentations, and industry events.
Additionally, you will provide regular reports on account/segment progress, financial goals, and initiatives, while continuously analysing and enhancing sales methods and processes. Whilst leading proposal development and negotiations in accordance with business guidelines and objectives, you will also support channel and partner initiatives to expand our portfolio.

The ideal candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Business, or another closely related field and be able to demonstrate equivalent industry experience. You will have proven sales and business development expertise in the dark fibre market, optionally in selling active and passive fibre-based services and selling Mobile Cell 5G/Mini Macro/Small Cell installation and commissioning.
Developed, negotiated and delivered successful projects that involved fibre/telecommunications services with telecommunications providers/industry leaders, hyperscalers, data centre providers and or councils.
Exceptional interpersonal skills are essential, with experience in multi-level solution selling, negotiation, and relationship-building across internal and external stakeholders. Proficiency in consultative selling methodologies and negotiating innovative commercial models is highly regarded.
To be successful, you will be able to demonstrate a history of successfully delivering strategic priorities while fostering agreement among stakeholders with varied needs and expectations. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including the ability to articulate value propositions, are crucial. You will have an advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and basic proficiency in Sharepoint and Salesforce, with AI familiarity being a bonus.
While not mandatory, showcasing comprehensive experience in the energy sector, spanning contestable connections within distribution/transmission businesses or ASPs, sustainability initiatives like Net Zero strategies, electric vehicles, BESS and EVCI (Electrical Vehicle Charging Infrastructure) would be advantageous. Similarly, candidates with expertise in Smart City projects, encompassing the creation, development, and successful execution of initiatives involving sensors, smart lighting, poles, software, and other elements crucial for building a smart city, would be considered a valuable bonus.
