Allegro Energy, a forward-thinking battery company located in Newcastle, Australia, is seeking a Business Development Agent.
The Business Development Agent will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and expanding Allegro's market presence.
You will work closely with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and new client acquisition.
Key Responsibilities: Identify and Develop New Business Opportunities: Conduct market research to identify potential clients and industries for growth for both the Supercapacitor and Redox Flow Battery product lines.
Generate leads through networking, cold calling, and other means.
Develop and implement strategies for business growth and market expansion.
Build New Client Relationships: Establish strong relationships with potential clients and stakeholders.
Understand client needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their business objectives.
Build New Sales Models: Understand opportunities for new sales models including PPA's and Licensing.
Negotiate and Close Deals: Lead negotiations with prospective clients, including pricing, terms, and contract finalisation.
Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure contract compliance and risk management.
Close deals to meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the company's revenue goals.
Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the management and product team to align business development strategies with overall sales goals.
Coordinate with marketing to develop effective campaigns that attract new clients.
Provide feedback to the product development team based on client needs and market trends.
Monitor and Report on Market Trends: Stay informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies.
Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on market analysis.
Prepare and present regular reports on business development activities and outcomes.
Manage Business Development Pipeline: Manage direct and indirect lead generation processes.
Maintain an updated and accurate pipeline of business development activities using CRM software.
Track progress and ensure timely follow-up on all leads and opportunities.
Key Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 2-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within a highly technical product suite.
Experience in a technical sales role and or energy industry experience is beneficial.
Skills: Proven track record of successful business development and client acquisition.
Strong commercial acumen and know how to navigate within an enterprise/partner to map stakeholders, generate buy-in.
Technical solution sales in an energy related environment.
Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills.
Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to be both technical and analytical.
Strategic thinking and ability to identify and act on business opportunities.
Be a strong team player that is passionate about being a part of a fast-moving and entrepreneurial company.
A passion for renewable energy.
Proficiency in CRM software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
