Business Data Architect 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Location Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane About the role: The Business Data Architect acts as key conduit between the business and Data & Enterprise Technology team to bring the end-to-end business data roadmaps together across all business functions.
This role plays a critical role in: Collaborating with cross functional business teams, architects and platform team to ensure strategic alignment of business and technology goals with regards to the implementation and usage of DI data Understanding Suncorp future state data architecture and tooling to drive data transformation, simplification (tooling & environments) and value for the business Contextualizing data strategy for operational needs and documenting end-to-end business data life cycle process Developing artefacts such as business capability map and value streams to help bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
Key Accountabilities: The Business Data Architect plays a crucial role in working with business SMEs and Technology team to design, manage and optimise data architecture, ensuring that the end-to-end data framework introduced in DI are robust, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
The key responsibilities include: Develop a data architecture framework and tooling including end-to-end business data management, data flows, data integration, and data governance that aligns with business requirements and broader technology strategy in Suncorp Document business use of data, set up data services such as data servicing, data publishing, processes that need to be in place, controls for operational risk, BCP, Audit, compliance, data lifecycle, etc., and support showing the business value from its data (for short and long term).
Clearly communicate data architecture concepts and strategies to non-technical stakeholders and ensure alignment across the organization Work closely with business stakeholders and Technology team to design and implement an optimal, scalable and efficient data architecture strategy that supports business processes and decision making Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continually improve the data architecture and its capabilities.
About You: Minimum 10 years' experience within a data architecture and technology environment, ideally within the Financial Services industry Solid technology and tooling background, with experience in designing and driving data architecture strategy Strong business acumen and ability to translate business operational needs to technical requirements Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to work in a rapidly changing environment Excellent stakeholders' management and communication skills, with ability to lead, influence and drive a strategic view.
