The Facilities Division plans, builds and maintains Victoria Police facilities throughout Victoria. The portfolio consists of over 700, owned, leased and licenced sites consisting of a diverse range of assets including Police Stations, residences, forensic facilities, warehouse and logistics facilities, and office space.
The Planning Unit engages with executive and operational level stakeholders within Victoria Police to understand service delivery transformation and how this can be forwarded through changes to the current real estate or facilities model. They carry out horizon scanning to identify new property or service trends and review how this may impact future organisational real estate needs, as well as how that integrates with the multi-year investment strategy and pipeline.
Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Business Analyst is a key member of the team having direct input into investment priority feasibility assessments, business case development and site acquisition and will have a pivotal role in strategic decision-making process.
This is a fixed term contract position expiring on 31 January 2026.

Your duties will include: Review, research and analyse business requirements for relevant systems and make recommendations to improve efficiencies. Enhance and improve knowledge management. Support in in the configuration, testing and documentation of new functionality and revised practices and the development of training materials. Liaise with and develop good working relationships with potential internal and external stakeholder in order to improve the property business process and information flow analysis capability. Assist in the ongoing update and management of Victoria Police property business processes. Manage and continuously evolve existing processes for research and analysis efficiency. Utilise technology for data gathering, processing, and reporting. Contribute to projects relating to Victoria Police's property initiatives and strategies. Assist the Planning Unit in the development of a 30 Year Strategic Infrastructure Master planning project As the successful applicant, you will have: Qualification related to urban development, town planning, property, urban design, architecture or equivalent. Relevant experience contributing to complex business analysis, recommendations and strategic advice. Excellent interpersonal skills including written, and verbal communication skills. Experience in using various analytical tools (e.g. Power BI, ArcGIS, Excel). Previous experience in property or related fields highly regarded. A strong commitment to Operational Infrastructure Department's strategy goals - supporting our people and embracing customer centricity, innovation and collaboration in our delivery of services. Requirements and relevant information: One (1) x full-time, Fixed Term position to 31/01/2026 available (maternity backfill). This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands. Flexible working arrangement – 3 days in office and 2 days working from home. A probation period of six months is applicable for external applications (existing Victoria Police employees who have already passed probation period do not subject to this requirement).
