Level/Salary: Level 5, $96,307 - $105,254 p.a. (PSCSAA 2022)

This is a pool recruitment process (Ref 01057). This pool will run for a period of twelve (12) months and may be used to fill ongoing fixed term contracts, secondments, acting/relieving and permanent opportunities. There is currently one (1) temporary full time position offered as a twelve (12) month contract/secondment opportunity with the possibility of extension/permanency. POSITION OBJECTIVE This position manages the internal/external budget management framework, incorporating the Western Australia Police Force's annual budget submission process to government. Provides budgeting advice to senior management, monitoring budget performance and identifying budgetary and actual trends and develops strategies to meet these pressures. Ensures the early identification and reporting of variations, trends, issues, solutions and opportunities and conducts cost benefit analysis of initiatives and proposals. Provides professional advice and customer service to the agency's portfolio representatives.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirements in no more than two (2) pages:
Analytical and conceptual skills - Conducting cost benefit analysis, business case development and other costing exercises. Assessing information from diverse sources and investigating significant trends, issues, impacts, opportunities and options.Financial and budget management skills - Complying with annual budget cycle. Undertaking financial modelling. Undertaking costing and pricing of outputs. Providing quality budget advice to senior management.Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant's ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS In addition to the above mentioned POOL is being created to fill future vacancies that may arise within the metropolitan area. This POOL will remain active for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial appointment. Applicants who are assessed as 'suitable' at the completion of this process, will be placed in the POOL and may be considered for future permanent and temporary vacancies as they become available.
Once an applicant from the POOL accepts a permanent position via this selection process, that applicant will be removed from the POOL. Applicants who accept a temporary vacancy will remain in the POOL and will continue to be considered for permanent opportunities as they arise.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
