About the Position The City has an opportunity for a dynamic and experienced ICT professional to help deliver our technology and Human Resources projects within the City. Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst, the Business Analyst will be expected to bridge the gap between technology and business by using robust analytical methodologies to assess processes, determine business requirements and deliver recommendations for projects. You will need excellent interpersonal skills as this role requires interaction with stakeholders and collaborative working practices to ensure successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities Determine operational objectives by studying business functions (predominantly Human Resources functions); gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.Build strong stakeholder relationships with business and IT stakeholders to assist business units define their requirements and understand the technology impacts in all areas of their business.Provide a point of contact for project stakeholders relating to the delivery of business analysis activities for operational and capital projects and all other IS interactions.Proactively develop business cases and implementation plans, for business process reviews, including the coordination of key stakeholders and associated business officers.Devise and document general business requirements.Conduct comprehensive business analysis at user/process/system interaction level.Review and assess current state processes.Design and implement future state solutions including business rules, procedures and policies.Develop business process maps for 'as is' and 'to be' states.Assist with change projects brought about by process analysis.About You The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. IT or business-related tertiary qualification or demonstrated relevant experience.Possession of relevant industry certification (e.g. PMI-PBA, AgileBA or IIBA certification) or equivalent deemed experience.Strong business and process analysis skills, business process mapping and re-engineering.Extensive experience in requirement elicitation, gathering, documentation and management.Strong analytical skills.Critical thinking skills, ability to identify, report, design and scope changes to deliver business improvement or system improvement.Demonstrated ability and experience to establish effective working partnerships with a strong customer service focus.Functional and conceptual understanding of technical issues and solutions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues and concepts on business solutions.Demonstrated ability in workshop facilitation and presentation.Knowledge of Business Process Model & Notation (BPMN).The following additional experience would be highly desirable for this position:
Experience with HR process and systems analysis.Practical experience collaborating with HR teams to identify business needs.Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) or WHS systems (Workplace Health and Safety).Knowledge of HR best practices and compliance.What We Offer The City offers some amazing benefits including flexibility in when and where you work to ensure a work-life balance.
