Position Description: Business Analyst About the role The Business Analyst position is responsible for providing Family Services Australia (FSA) with a range of data, projects and initiatives to analyse and immerse themselves in engineering workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities in improving our service stream's reports and outputs. You will be responsible for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, while providing innovative improvements.
Key accountabilities include: Requirements Gathering: Create and lead business analysis efforts for complex projects, focusing on process mapping, business improvement, requirements gathering, and translate them into functional specificationsBusiness Process Analysis: Conduct and facilitate in-depth analysis of current business processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable recommendationsIdeation: Facilitate brainstorming and ideation sessions using design thinking methods to generate creative solutions that address FSA's needsTeam Support and Collaboration: Collaborate with business stakeholders, various IT teams and foster cross-team collaboration to help team members complete relevant tasks and produce deliverablesBenefits Remuneration negotiable based on qualifications, skills, experience and value-addProfessional, community-focused and person-centred team cultureFlexible location of work, with candidates able to operate from our QLD sites, or NSW HQ in ShellharbourFlexibility around work from home arrangementsAnnual Training, Learning and Development Plan including a generous yearly CPD budgetSalary Sacrifice Packaging $15,900 tax freeEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and Rostered Days Off (RDOs)Paid Annual Family Days at Easter and ChristmasEssential criteria Demonstrated 3+ years' recent experience as a Business Analyst or similar roleExtensive expertise in Power platforms (BI, Automate, Apps), Fabric and other MS Developer toolsExperience in developing process flows, process mapping, wireframing, procedures and policy documentationAdvanced knowledge of the Microsoft 365 Suite (SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.)Experience with business system and process analysis with a strong systems mindset including all aspects of the solutions development lifecycleProven track record of developing and implementing successful outcomesHighly proactive and willingness to take the initiative of autonomously obtaining the information required to deliver, monitor and evaluate outcomesHigh degree of analytical and problem-solving capability with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insightsEstablish and maintain relationships with appropriate stakeholders (including vendors, external stakeholders, staff members), providing daily contact on status and changesProven expertise in utilising business analysis techniques and tools to facilitate workshops, gather requirements, and document processesAbility to learn fast and develop a working knowledge for various online platformsDesirable criteria Creating user documentation, along with conducting formal training classesExperience in the not-for-profit (NFP) sector with a focus on customer experience (CX) and/or product innovationDirect experience in an Employment Services industry that has included successful, cohesive, and supportive engagement with teamsExperience undertaking Project Management dutiesDeveloping project artefacts such as business case, scoping documents, user stories and test scenariosAbility to plan, coordinate and support testing efforts, including user acceptance testing (UAT), to validate the implemented solutions effectively address business needsProven capabilities in requirements elicitation and documentation as per BABOK, process engineering/reengineering, and business change management frameworksProven leadership in process automation, system migration, and API testing initiativesAbility to attend various offices across multiple states and work from home, as requiredAbout Family Services Australia (FSA) www.familyservices.org.au Join a dynamic Not for Profit (NFP) ranked eighth (Australia and New Zealand) in the Australian Financial Review (AFR) Most Innovative Companies – NFP, Government and Education sectors.
