ABOUT THE ROLE The Business Analyst - Digital will be responsible for ensuring the product success & operational execution of the AFL's digital offerings, both existing & new initiatives.
They will act as the key bridge between AFL stakeholders and the technical teams, ensuring the smooth execution of new product initiatives, with development of user stories supported by strong technical acumen.
This role will include supporting the execution of AFL products with operational excellence.
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF Key Accountabilities:
Facilitating Development-Ready Requirements: Work closely with the AFL's technical partners to validate that product initiatives are roadmap-ready and technically feasible, ensuring they have a thorough understanding of requirements and are equipped & informed to implement the required technical solutions.
Ensure risks of the product, changes & timelines are documented & managed appropriately Maintain up-to-date documentation on technical solutions and delivery processes, ensuring compliance with AFL's digital standards and making updates available to the team as needed.
Supporting the AFL Product team on key initiatives through the product lifecycle Participate in regular Product Team meetings to stay aligned with strategic objectives and provide feedback on technical feasibility and risks, ensuring that user stories and technical requirements reflect Product objectives Support Product Managers with the optimisation of product briefs, from discovery to delivery such as providing insights to the Product Managers on operational changes, risks, and technical constraints that could impact roadmap execution.
Provide the Product Managers with insights gained through operational execution, highlighting opportunities for technical innovation or identifying potential risks.
Overseeing the operations of key AFL Digital Products Ensuring that Play.AFL, Marvel Stadium, and other digital platforms remain stable and functional, with a focus on uptime, performance, and security.
Work with AFL stakeholders to identify optimisation opportunities & work with technical teams to see iterative updates developed & released to fans.
Manage regular communication with stakeholders regarding the status of ongoing maintenance, updates, and any operational changes.
Proactively addressing stakeholder concerns related to platform performance or feature requests, ensuring expectations are aligned.
Oversee & advise on the digital elements of the Product Roadmap for Play, Marvel, & AFL Photos
Championing Efficiency & Process Improvements Continually seek ways to optimise the downstream delivery process, working closely with technical partners to refine handover processes, clarify responsibilities, and reduce duplication of effort.
Ensure roadblocks & risks are identified early, and help stakeholders resolve these challenges, to ensure the team arrives at the best solution.
OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER Core Competencies: Highly developed communication and organisational skills, and ability to work in a cross-functional environment with varied stakeholders.
Strong understanding of technical processes and strategic product goals, with the ability to translate between the two.
Experience working with varied technical resources & vendors is desirable, especially in the media, live streaming, video, or audio related industries.
Ability to manage multiple projects, balancing priorities and work to strict deadlines.
Relevant experience in business analytics, digital projects, operations management, project management or a related role.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience) is highly desirable.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
Passion for creating impactful, fan first experiences and fostering continuous improvement.
