Your opportunity :
The Corporate and Finance Group have an exciting new role available for an experienced Purchasing Team Leader to join their team. The Purchasing Team Leader is responsible for managing purchasing operations for Urban Utilities to ensure efficient buying, requisitioning, and supplier co-management. The role will lead initiatives to improve cost-effectiveness, risk management, and stakeholder and supplier relationships. Supervising and mentoring a small team of Purchasing Officers, the Purchasing Team Leader must ensure the team meet organisational goals, ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations, and provide analysis for continuous improvement, maximising benefits realisation.
About you :
Diploma level qualification in business, finance, procurement, or related discipline and or relevant equivalent experience. 3-5 years' experience in purchasing and / or finance within a medium to large size business. 1-2 years' experience leading and mentoring a small team of purchasing professionals, setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture. Proficiency using business systems including ERP, Source to Pay systems and the Microsoft Suite (incl. Word, Excel & PowerPoint) Collecting and analysing data on cost drivers, market dynamics, and industry issues. Developing sourcing strategies to optimise cost, quality, and supplier performance. Monitoring market trends' impact on procurement. Other Requirements
Performance of 'on call' duties are an inherent requirement of this role. This requires that the employee must be available to be on-call and to attend to work matters, both in person and remotely, outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as reasonably required to fulfill the requirements of the position.
