As the Senior Transport Engineer, you will be the key technical resource for the provision of sound, timely advice and resolution of issues related to road safety and traffic management. A key element of your role will be to liaise with a wide range of peers and stakeholders across Council, State Government, and the community to achieve agreed outcomes.
Our evolving Transport Planning team located in a world heritage area will provide you with an opportunity to get involved in a wide range of projects, from area-wide master planning and traffic studies to the implementation of traffic treatments or controls; and a chance to provide expert advice and be involved in the development of policies and strategies that have immediate and long-term impacts for our city.
We are seeking candidates that take pride in their work, have a positive attitude, are punctual, reliable, hardworking, and able to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The candidate will bring the following to the role:
Degree in relevant discipline or extensive relevant experience in engineering with a minimum of 5 years' experience. Demonstrated ability to resolve complex engineering/transport-related problems, negotiate viable options with stakeholders, and implement preferred solutions. Proven ability to prepare technical concise reports, correspondence, presentations on various operational engineering issues. Demonstrated ability to consult effectively and fairly with internal and external customers which may involve complexity. Strong interpersonal & communication skills (written & oral) together with proven ability for negotiation and conflict resolution. Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and as a valuable member of the team. Demonstrated ability to complete ongoing complex planning to ensure tasks are effectively coordinated. Remuneration: Base salary commencing at $111,044 gross per annum
