About the role We are currently looking for a Senior Associate (5-7 PQE) to join our innovative Dispute Resolution & Litigation team in our Sydney office. In this role, you will be involved in a diverse range of litigation matters providing sound and practical advice for private sector clients, including assisting with trials in Superior Courts across Australia concerning consumer law, intellectual property, shareholder disputes, and various technology matters. In addition, you will be asked to assist in mediations and other alternative dispute resolution processes. This role will have a focus on working on a mix of medium to large frequently complex and high-profile matters for clients with national, consumer facing businesses in various industries.
The work is complex and challenging which will see you working closely with a leading and dynamic partner – Shaun Temby, and alongside other exceptional litigators and like-minded professionals in a collaborative team environment.
About you Ideally you will have solid private practice experience, sound knowledge of court practice and processes and you will be confident in utilising your proven analytical and drafting skills. Someone who is commercially minded, strong project management skills and has a client focused attitude will find themselves succeeding in this role. Experience in matters involving issues arising under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and ACCC investigations and prosecutions would be preferred.
In addition you will have : Significant broad commercial litigation experience (advisory, mediation, hearings and litigation) Strong technical, drafting and research skills Impressive academic qualifications An engaging manner with excellent communication skills at all levels Well-developed negotiation skills and strong attention to detail Experience working autonomously Statutory interpretation skills Why join Maddocks?
