Are you a criminal lawyer looking for an opportunity to take on a position delivering high-quality legal services?
Legal Aid Queensland is the state's largest criminal law defence practice, employing some of Queensland's leading criminal defence lawyers.

There are two temporary contracts available:
Temporary full time to 28 June 2025 with the possibility of extension.
Temporary full time to 13 February 2026 maternity leave backfill with the possibility of extension.
What you will do:
Undertake criminal law casework including all related matters.
Provide duty lawyer services in the Magistrates and Children's courts.
Provide legal information and advice to clients and the public.
About you: The successful candidate will have:
Ability to prepare and appear in all aspects of criminal law cases, in various jurisdictions, in the role of lawyer and lawyer advocate.
Working knowledge of criminal law practice and procedure.
Demonstrated ability to conduct quasi criminal law matters.
What we can offer you:
36.25 hrs per week (full time hours).
12.75% employer super contributions.
