Our Systems Assurance team is integral to the Projects function delivering major capital improvements, supporting Victoria's Big Build, and ensuring a modern, connected regional service for all Victorians.
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic Projects team. This role is crucial in implementing V / Line's Systems Safety Assurance framework, ensuring compliance with our Safety Management System (SMS) and Rail Safety accreditation throughout the project lifecycle.
As our Senior Systems Assurance Engineer, your key responsibilities will be to:
Apply V / Line Systems Assurance methodology to allocated projects. Support and mentor Systems Assurance Engineers, advocating for the Systems Assurance Engineering process. Develop project-specific Systems Assurance Management Plans and Statements. Conduct Assurance Reviews throughout the project lifecycle. Present project assurance status at V / Line Change Control Board meetings. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to represent V / Line's requirements. Provide expertise in system safety and systems assurance based on relevant rail safety standards (EN50126, EN50128, EN50129, IEC 62278, IEC 62279, IEC 62425), and engineering safety requirements specified in the Safety Management Systems (SMS). Contribute to the continuous improvement of V / Line systems and processes. About You To be successful in this role, it is essential that you have:
Degree qualified in an Engineering or related discipline. 5+ years of professional experience in Systems Assurance or Systems Safety. 2+ years of relevant experience in Project Management, Risk Management, Systems Engineering, Systems Integration, or Functional Safety. Capable leadership and mentoring skills, with demonstrated ability to lead and influence multi-disciplinary teams. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. The following credentials and experience will be highly regarded:
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) and Registered Professional Engineer of Victoria (desirable). International Engineering Safety Management (iESM) certification. Functional Safety Certification (Exida, TUV, or similar). Previous experience in rail infrastructure or rolling stock. What We Offer Competitive Salary: Range $129,700 to $157,200 Total Remuneration Package.
