THE ORGANISATION
The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) is the specialist research, development, and marketing body for the red meat processing industry in Australia. AMPC runs programs of activity that are funded by processor levy funds, private contributions, and the Australian Government.
Their purpose is to enable Australia to build the most competitive, profitable, and sustainable red meat processing industry and to drive world-class innovation, adoption, and strategic policy development through genuine partnerships built on trust.
The AMPC board of directors is committed to governance systems that enhance performance and ensure that AMPC is operating according to accountability provisions of the Australian Meat and Livestock Industry Act and in accordance with its Constitution and Statutory Funding Agreement with the Commonwealth Government.
THE ROLE
We are seeking an Independent Non-Executive Director to join the Board of AMPC, with a particular focus on governance, audit, and risk management. This role will include Chairing the Audit & Risk Committee.
THE PERSON
To support AMPC's objectives and responsibilities, candidates must demonstrate:
Expertise in governance, risk, and compliance, with the capability to Chair the Audit & Risk Committee. Qualifications and experience in finance, accounting, and audit, ideally CPA or CA. Relevant background and experience in R&D, policy development, and/or the food/meat supply chain is highly desirable. Knowledge of the meat industry, food supply chain, or food manufacturing processes is advantageous, as AMPC's work directly supports processors and their operations.
