We are always looking for ways to improve controls, processes, and tools that will support us towards creating a safer environment for our people across our Bauxite Mines and Alumina Refineries in WA and our Portland Aluminium Smelter in Victoria.
We currently have an opportunity for a seasoned health and safety leader with a passion for driving operational excellence and regulatory compliance to take ownership of our regional strategy and ensure that our operations consistently meet the highest standards of safety governance.
Reporting to the Regional Health and Safety Manager, you will play a key part in shaping the safety culture across multiple sites and drive the effective implementation of our EHS Risk Management Standard, whilst identifying risk management shortfalls, improvements and implementing strategies across our locations ensuring compliance with Australian WHS legislation.
Your key activities and contributions will be:
Supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of Health and Safety Management systems, standards and improvements with an operational focus.
Partnering with and providing expert guidance to our leadership and operational teams on health and safety governance, regulatory requirements and best practices.
Championing continuous improvement initiatives ensuring that risk and assurance frameworks evolve in line with industry standards and organisational needs.
Implementing the Health and Safety Risk Management standard and framework for critical risk control.
Overseeing Health and Safety monitoring systems, participating in organisational reviews, and driving risk mitigation efforts.
Leading and facilitating risk workshops and overseeing the Corporate Governance Risk (CGR) program.

What you can bring to the role
Proven experience in Health and Safety, Risk Management roles within a leadership capacity.
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks with in-depth knowledge of WHS Acts and Regulations.
Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and manage risk within operational settings.
Tertiary qualifications with a Safety related field or Post Graduate qualification in H&S Management.
Working knowledge from positions in Mining, Refining, Smelting, and metal production is desirable experienced in auditing, inspections, and investigations.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with an ability to influence change and implement continuous improvement initiatives within complex, multi-site environments.
An analytical mindset skilled in identifying risks, proposing solutions and ensuring organisational alignment.
