The RoleUnder broad direction, the Buildings Manager is responsible for detailed management, maintenance and repairs of the Memorial's eleven buildings and associated assets including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, fire systems, lifts, grounds, cleaning and waste management. The work involves leading a team in the development of the buildings; management and administration of building asset contracts, projects and in house timber workshop services; development and implementation of a range of facility policies and procedures; and management of heritage, energy and environment efficiency programs and Roll of Honour amendments. As the manager of diverse teams, the occupant requires outstanding team leadership and communication skills.Core Responsibilities Under broad direction provide strategic management of all Memorial buildings including the detailed management of facilities maintenance contracts and development of related tender documentation, contracts, schedules, budgets, plans, policies and procedures.Manage projects and contractors for the development and maintenance of Memorial buildings and associated assets, including significant heritage projects, capital upgrades and life cycle works.Management and leadership of a small team to achieve required results, including oversight of contracts for on site contractors.Management and delivery of the Memorial's Buildings and Exhibition Maintenance and Minor New Works service request platforms.Managing a range of office administration, buildings, timber workshop services, fleet management, Roll of Honour amendments and energy and environment enhancements.Exercise financial and administrative delegations and functions including deputising for the Head of Buildings and Services.Prepare policy papers, reports, ministerial submissions, and correspondence.Coordinate delivery of workplace health and safety processes including contractor site induction, safe work method statement review and supervision, and safe handling and movement of a wide range of objects and equipment.Assist the Head of Buildings and Services to manage section staff engendering team spirit and corporate awareness and ensuring high levels of service to all areas of the Memorial, key stakeholders and the public.Employment Details Ongoing - Full Time - EL2$148,814Campbell, ACTContact Information: For specific questions relating to this job vacancy, please contact: David Fitzgerald, For questions relating to the online lodgement of your application, please email the Recruitment team via Closing Date:Applications close at 11:30pm, Monday, 23 September 2024.
