POSITION OVERVIEW The Building Graduate plays a pivotal role in the successful execution of construction projects by combining a diverse set of skills and knowledge.
Armed with a solid foundation in construction methods, project planning and the ability to interpret intricate construction drawings, they contribute to the meticulous planning and execution of projects.
Quality assurance and safety awareness are inherent in their approach, ensuring that every facet of the construction process adheres to the highest standards.
A Building Graduate serves as a key player in site inspections, meticulously examining every detail to guarantee compliance with building codes, health and safety standards and overall project quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES Project Coordination & Management: Manage assigned trade packages through the project lifecycle, ensuring they meet specifications and timelines.
Maintain a detailed site diary to document daily project progress, challenges, and achievements.
Project Administration & Documentation: Oversee timesheet processes, track equipment usage, and coordinate with head office for payroll and accounts.
Set up comprehensive project registers and contact lists to streamline project operations.
Stakeholder Coordination: Plan and oversee task coordination among employees and subcontractors, addressing escalated complaints promptly to maintain positive relationships and support seamless project execution.
Compliance & Safety Management: Ensure adherence to legal requirements, safety protocols, and quality standards by supporting the Safety Manager with OHS&E plans, induction processes, and regular safety inspections.
Risk Mitigation & Reporting: Assist the Project Manager in quality control and risk management, reporting potential delays or issues promptly to support timely resolution.
Financial & Budget Support: Aid in budget tracking and financial reporting, providing updates to the Project Manager and contributing to accurate cost management.
Site Safety Audits & Quality Control: Participate in periodic safety audits and quality inspections, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and construction standards.
Document and address any safety incidents to improve on-site measures.
Documentation & Procurement Support: Coordinate with teams to develop organized site documentation systems, support material procurement, and manage document control for efficient information retrieval and project compliance.
Technical & Planning Assistance: Interpret construction drawings, assist with project planning and scheduling, and provide technical insights to optimize construction methods and maintain compliance with building codes.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE White card.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
Prior internships or practical work experience in the construction field, supporting hands-on application of theoretical knowledge.
