ABOUT THE COMPANY.Our Client based in Sydney is looking for an experienced Building & Compliance Officer to join the team. Reporting to the Compliance Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in protecting the health and safety of the community by ensuring compliance with building and environmental regulations.
ABOUT THE POSITION.This is an initial 6-month contract. You will actively perform business functions related to investigating and taking appropriate enforcement actions concerning compliance matters. The role requires you to work both autonomously and collaboratively, utilising your strong knowledge of relevant legislation.
DUTIES. Conduct investigations on compliance issues regarding breaches of relevant local government, planning and environmental legislation.Carry out appropriate enforcement action by way of education, fines, notices, orders, and directions.Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.SKILLS & EXPERIENCE. Qualification in Planning, Building Surveying, or equivalent professional discipline.Accreditation with NSW Fair Trading at a registration level of Building Inspector (A4).Driver Licence.Working knowledge of BCA and EPA.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.CULTURE.The culture of this team is one described to be collaborative, cooperative, and solutions-oriented.
