Purpose: To research, prepare, implement, monitor and review Council's plans, policies and guidelines to ensure that there is an up to date, effective and efficient strategic planning framework for the City.

What you will do: The successful candidate will enjoy providing input into research and analysis of a range of strategic planning issues, including demographic trends, recreation, transport, and community facilities planning.
They will also contribute towards preparing timely and accurate reports to Councillors, Council staff, and community groups.
The successful candidate will also be involved in providing high-quality, accurate, and timely advice to City Planning's customers and liaising with relevant sections within Council's Information Technology Group including GIS, Business Applications and Technology departments.
We trust you will bring: Tertiary qualifications, at degree level, in urban planning or related field.
Sound knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979, relevant planning legislation and emerging planning reforms.
Well-developed skills in research, analysis and preparation of high-quality policies and strategic planning documents and reports.
Demonstrated high quality report writing skills.
Strong focus on and commitment to quality customer experience.
